International class at ECCO Tour Winter Series – 111 players are signed up
On 3. februar 2013
With less than six weeks to the Nordic Golf League season start, the ECCO Tour Winter Series is approaching a full field.
Again this year, flows a highly competent group of big golf names to the season’s first major golf test. From Denmark is among other Challenge Tour players Mark Haastrup, Rasmus Hjelm, Anders Schmidt Hansen and last year’s ECCO Tour star, Lucas Bjerregaard, on the entry list.
Of Swedish and Norwegian profiles seem Joachim Rask, Benny Ahlenbäck, Elias Bertheussen, Peter Kaensche and one of the winners from the Winter Series 2012, Christian Aronsen as the greatest threats. But as it always is with season starts, a high number of new talents are ready to bit in as dark horses.
Tough international competition
The top names must fight against a rarely seen international field of participants from around 15 different countries. Distant destinations like the U.S. and Israel are represented, while strong golfing nations such as England, Italy and Spain will try to bite spoons with a number of established and talented golf names from Scandinavia.
Winter Series runs over the two tournaments; Mediter Real Estate Masters and ECCO Spanish Open, with a total breakdown of 80,000 euros, so there are important ranking points and euros at stake in the battle for positions on the 2013 Nordic Golf League Ranking.
There are currently 111 registered players for the 4th ECCO Tour Winter Series, which means that there are still places available in the field. Registration deadline is the 11th February and the a full field is expected at La Manga. See the entry list here
