Practice facilities at La Manga Club has been upgraded with new grass area, target greens, new putting green etc.

La Manga Club has undergone a major renovation and updating of their driving range and training areas. These areas will greatly help to make the experience around the ECCO Tour Winter Series even better.

“It’s no secret that the practice areas at La Manga Club has been a little worn, therefore it has also been a demand from us that these facilities were improved before the 2013 winter series, so I am pleased that we can now offer our players some new and attractive facilities” says Flemming Astrup, tournament director at ECCO Tour.

Here is a brief overview of the areas that have updated and improved:

  • Seeding of a different grass (Ray grass) with a darker colour on the flags area, marking better the different targets
  • Hang maps of the driving range on each block with the according distance to every target from that position
  • Replacement of the wooden piles by a concrete wall on the same level than the mats
  • Integration of a irrigation system in the grass area in front of each block allowing also practicing from grass
  • Face-lift around the Driving Range with a new layer of concrete and new paint on the floor and the iron supports of the nets
  • Fix of faulty nets
  • The first two blocks, covered in style of the “Sol y Sombra Restaurant” giving a shaded area
  • Replace of all the driving range balls
